On the weekend of the 13th March, a group of 13 really cool young people from the Lancaster diocese went to Brettargh Halt for a preparation weekend for Lourdes. It was great!
We played lots of games and we got to dance and sing a lot too! We went on a walk around the deer park and saw loads of deer!!! We did the Stations of the Cross as we walked; using reflections that we had the chance to do earlier on and we carried a big cross around with us.
We spent time reflecting on our lives, who we were, and who we would like to be, and we were given the opportunity to go to confession and receive absolution.
We met some of the people we would be going on the trip to Lourdes with, and got to know each other.
I enjoyed the weekend, because it was a chance to get to know new people, but also to get to know myself, make new friends, and also, the start of a new journey in my life. The times we spent praying, were really friendly and fun, and we were able to put our own thoughts and feelings into the sessions.
The weekend was fun and light-hearted, and it was amazing. I met some amazing people, and had a lot of new experiences.
